Poor health service delivery in the Busoga region has been blamed on a shortage of health workers and absenteeism in public health centers. Dr. Warren Namara, the director of the State House Health Monitoring Unit, emphasizes the urgent need to recruit more staff and equip health centers to improve the situation. Namara’s team has been in Busoga to monitor health service delivery. The unit was established to investigate mismanagement in health services, probe maternal deaths due to negligence by health workers, and monitor the operations of health facilities, among other roles.
